Industry Issues: CHBA keeps its members informed on high profile advocacy issues that can impact your business. If something directly affects you, we’ll email you to let you know what actions we’re taking on your behalf. You can view current and past industry issues that CHBA has taken action on here.

Federal Government Consultations: CHBA is a respected voice on parliament hill, and regularly participates in federal government consultations. As per CHBA advocacy, the federal government acknowledged that every level of government affects housing, and has committed to a coordinated, Federal‐Provincial‐Municipal approach to developing housing policy. This reflects how CHBA has always approached housing issues. Stay informed on how the association is advocating for the residential construction industry here.

Being involved in a committee or council that interests you has multiple benefits. You learn about information like technical solutions and building code developments first, make connections with other like-minded professionals, and have an opportunity to influence both the direction and advocacy of the association. The first step is normally to get involved at the local level of your association. From there, you may be chosen to represent your area at the national level.
